This application utilizes Augmented Reality which requires a predefined marker which is part of the lobby sculpture at the Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex in Fort Washington, Maryland. Once the application is started and the app recognized the sculpture, the audience can choose from two different modes, A Learn mode and a Play Mode.

Upon selecting the Learn Mode, the audience can choose from one of the 10 panels of the sculpture. Each panels plans to engage, educate, and entertain those who visit the Complex. The information contained within the augmented reality sculpture is to help relay on-the-spot information for events, times and features of the center. This information displayed on the panels is also being utilized by the Complex as part of their U.S. Green Building Council LEED credits. The building is in the process of being certified as a LEED building. To help keep the information fresh and engaging, the Technology and Recreation Complex can customize the information that is displayed on the information panels. This allows the guest to experience new information and can be customized as needed.

The other major feature of this application is the Play Mode. Under the Play mode, a digital model of the sculpture is overlaid on the sculpture through the iPad. Upon tapping the select button and aiming the device as the sculpture, the audience can alter the digital model. This mode is focused toward a younger audience allowing them to be their own artist and giving the application another dimension of interaction.
